1) What is the mission of the Evergreen Foundation?

Our mission is to help advance public understanding and support for science-based forest policies and practices.

2) Are you a non-profit organization?

Yes, we are a 501(c)(3) corporation. This designation is reserved for non-profit organizations engaged in religious, scientific, educational or charitable work.

3) What is the Foundation's annual budget?

It varies from year to year but ranges from $250,000 to $500,000 depending on the success of our fund raising efforts.

4) What are your major sources of support?

Historically, most of our funding has come from smaller family-owned companies engaged in various sectors of forest products manufacturing. More recently, we've begun to attract funding from other non-profit organizations that support our mission.

5) Do major forest products companies contribute to your work?

Boise Cascade Corporation, Potlatch, Westvaco and Mead contribute to our work, as do Caterpillar and Timberjack, but most of our support still comes from smaller companies.

6) What is your primary educational program?

Evergreen Magazine and this web site are our major programs. We've been publishing the magazine since 1986, three years before the Foundation was incorporated.
