Issue The
Donato-Law Fiasco
In the 21 years we've been publishing Evergreen Magazine, this is the first time we've had to investigate student-faculty scandal at one of the nation's most respected forestry schools. But the Donato-Law fiasco, which unfolded last year in the Oregon State University College of Forestry, is simply the latest sign that the academic rigor taxpayers long ago came to expect from the publicly-funded forest science is no longer immune to rot from within. Although the paper trail here is not easily followed, we found many respected scientists willing to weigh in on the motives held by those who sought to disgrace a fine forestry school and its widely respected dean.
